Ancient Discrimination Against Artists, Especially Singers

There has always had a prejudice from ancient times to the present against artists, especially actors and singers.

In some Asian countries, it shows a disapproving attitude towards actors, singers by implying that they do not belong to any class in the society. 

In old society, artists were considered to have no any classification in society.

This happens not only in Asia but also in many places around the world.

People have considered that music is, it might be said, pure pleasure. That is, apart from providing pleasure, it does not do much more than that.

Plus music is associated with dancing, which is probably even worse in the eyes of many ones.

A lot of parents all over the world don’t want their children to pursue singing, acting, painting, dancing…jobs or entertainment careers although there are many famous and successful artists in the world.

Art jobs are considered quite unstable and precarious in financial matters.

 

Some main reasons people look down artists:

• Artists are just entertainers. Their value is only to bring pure joy. They do not contribute as much to society as other professions such as doctors, engineers, finance, high technology…
• Artists have unstable incomes, especially ones who are not famous. Even worse, many famous artists can’t get rich.
• Their careers also depend on appearance and youth, things that are easy to lose or difficult to keep. Many artists lose their reputation and job opportunities just because they lose their good appearance. Their stage aura tends to fade as they get older.
• Competition in music/film industry is fierce so it is more difficult to have a stable job and finances.
• Artists are naturally romantic, sociable, and often go on business trips away from home, so they are prone to infidelity and their marriages are prone to breaking up.
• Many famous and wealthy singers and actors in the world have decadent and drug-addicted lifestyles.

Many people who are passionate about singing, acting, dancing, painting, modelling… all over the world, for the above reasons, have prevented themselves from practicing their profession, considering it as a hobby or a temporary job.

Many music listeners feel that singers not only do not contribute much to society but also sing songs of suffering, separation, broken hearts… making them even more bored and disgusted with the singing profession.

For example, instead of composing and singing negative songs, producing sad and negative songs about love, new generations of artists will create songs (whether or not using musical note combos) praising fidelity or positive contents that make people believe in love and life.

You may ask: the work of nurturing and spreading fidelity is done by schools, teachers, parents, why artists?

Why Will Artists, Especially Singers, Song Authors Be “The Builders of Fidelity”?

One simple answer: Parents, teachers do not touch the issue of love constantly and directly through the songs that singers sing.

People (old and young, men and women, all social classes from East to West) listen to music every day, everywhere in the world, sometimes listening to the same song over and over again, year after year.

Just think: if a good song conveys positive meanings about love, about marriage (such as loyalty, knowing how to self-love, knowing how to overcome difficulties to come together…), it will have a good impact on everyone, every day, and that’s wonderful.

Although parents, teachers or other professions also have an important role in nurturing and spreading Multi-layered Fidelity, they can’t do that like composers and singers.

Songs with love messages, good or bad, can convey a wide message to society.

Moreover, parents and teachers can only easily influence children and teenagers, while the issue of love, marriage, and fidelity is the problems of adults.

Therefore, through conveying positive emotions, love of life; moments of sublimation in love; promises kept by couples in love; loyal, faithful feelings, together overcoming life’s challenges to come together; waiting for love (without suffering); knowing how to love yourself, not letting yourself depend on a painful, failed love; living fully, sincerely with your love…in songs, musicians and singers will be like “teachers” or simply, “The Builders of Fidelity” helping people believe in the beautiful and faithful love of human beings.

Only by doing so can we nurture faithfulness in love for everyone, and with the Multi-layered Fidelity that The Jelong Musical Note Combo mentioned, we can show how important fidelity is in all aspects of life.

Of course, parents, teachers in school always have the important role in enhancing children’s loyalty in all aspects.

We listen to music all our life. Therefore, singers can impact people’s concepts, thoughts, and feelings about love with great efficiency. With this characteristic, the profession of singers and musicians is leading in fostering and promoting the Fidelity of Human.
4. It is difficult to say that parents, teachers or any organization can convey the message and meaning of love and loyalty to a large number of adultsthrough society (around the world) like singers can. This shows that artists, especially singers, are one of the pillars of society, helping society build multi-layered fidelity, not just loyalty in love.

• Especially, parents, teachers, etc… (adults in society) also absorb views, thoughts, and ideas about love and Fidelity through the songs they listen to every day.
• If they are misinformed (by negative songs), they will be incapable of educating their children, not to mention other adults.

“Humane eyes” are ‘the look’ from inside you looking out to the outside with a willpower and a humane heart and not letting bad prejudices negatively affect your attitude, words and behavior towards others and yourself.

In love, if without “Humane eyes”, you can’t overcome the urge to cheat.

“Humane eyes” have willpower and humane heart. These will help you tell your conscience and brain not to hurt your loved ones and others.

To maintain Fidelity, to eradicate infidelity, we must know:

Love alone is not enough to help you overcome the temptations of infidelity (because many men or women out there have confessed that even though they cheated with someone else, they realized they still loved their spouse.)
